Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) President, Samuel Ocheho, says handball has the potential of becoming a commercially viable sport just like football in the country.
Ocheho told Channels Sports that although the sport is being seen as a lesser sport and the country has young talents that can dominate the sport.
The HFN president said: “The question is the people that are playing it now, why are they there? They are there for a reason, every sport is very very interesting as long as you develop interest it and football it’s what is it today because of the commercialization of the game and because FIFA has been able to put a brand to it that is why it is what it is.
“So, it is left for us in handball or other sports to actually put a serious brand to our sports.”
